Chapter 15 Reborn in the 1980s, I became the Stepmother of Two Children

  Chapter 15: A Delightful Conversation

"Because, I don't want this marriage. I want a divorce," Lin Yue stood by the river, her gaze fixed on the distant water, and she couldn't help but speak her mind.

"Are you from this village?" Lin Yue asked.

"No, I'm just passing through. I have distant relatives in this village," the man quickly replied.

Lin Yue breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good."

"Why is that good?" the man asked, puzzled.

Lin Yue smiled. "I was afraid you were from this village. If you knew too much, it would be troublesome to meet again in the future, and I was also afraid you'd go around spreading rumors."

As she spoke, Lin Yue playfully winked.

The man chuckled. "Well, I'm not from this village. Feel free to share your troubles."

Lin Yue fell silent for a moment. "I want a divorce because this marriage was forced upon me. My mother sold me off to pay off gambling debts, so in this marriage, we were never equals."

"You're not satisfied with your husband?" the man asked.

Lin Yue shook her head. "It's not a matter of satisfaction or dissatisfaction. I haven't even met him, but he's irresponsible, promiscuous, and ruthless. In short, he's worthless."

The man blinked. "But if you haven't met him, how do you know what kind of person he is?"

Lin Yue shrugged. "You don't need to meet to guess. People in the village say he used to work in the coal mine, but even though the mine closed down, he never came back."

"When my mother-in-law passed away, they sent someone to inform him, but he still didn't come back," she continued, "His mother passed away, leaving behind two children at home, but he didn't care. Do you think he's responsible?" Lin Yue raised her eyebrows in question.

The man furrowed his brow. "Hmm, he's irresponsible."

Lin Yue continued, "Exactly. And also, he actually has two children, reportedly from different mothers. The two children are three years apart in age. Now, the mother of the children is nowhere to be found."

"When I got married and asked my mother-in-law about it, she said she hadn't even seen the children's mother. You see, isn't that being promiscuous? It shows that he's been sleeping around." she sighed.

Taking a deep breath, she carried on, "Even if he slept with them, if he had any sense of responsibility, any conscience, once he had children, if he had even a tiny bit of kindness towards his woman, I believe no woman would be willing to abandon her own children and leave them unattended."

"So, I speculate that he must be a huge scumbag, the kind who sleeps around and doesn't take responsibility, or maybe he bullies and abuses women, which would make the children's mother want to stay far away, even abandoning the children she bore with hardship for nine months."

After Lin Yue said all this, the man tilted his head and thought for a moment.

"Well, as you put it, that man is indeed not a good person."

"Right?" Feeling a sense of resonance, Lin Yue felt that the man in front of her was really good, at least his values were sound.

"So, what is your ideal husband like?" the man suddenly asked.

"Ideal?" Lin Yue was slightly stunned, involuntarily thinking of the scumbag who cheated on her in her previous life.

"None," shaking off her thoughts, Lin Yue replied firmly.

"Why not?" The man was puzzled.

"Maybe people always have an imagination. There must be some outline of the ideal man in their minds."

Lin Yue sighed bitterly. "I haven't thought about it. I always feel that men are very promiscuous. Even if they love you at this moment, they might change in the next."

"Today's love doesn't represent eternal love. So, instead of hoping for a man to love oneself, no matter how perfect he may be, it's more important to love oneself." she ended.

T/L: Lin Yue, you’re talking about the man right in front of you right now
